Thousands Converge for Cleantech
On June 22, 2011, CEBEX Group hosted its 4th Annual Cleantech Investor Forum at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, with panelists presenting to an audience of 200. The half-day program was held in conjunction with the Clean Energy Expo China, an event that drew more than 15,000 attendees over three days.
The forum came at a timely moment, on the heels of China’s release of its 12th Five Year Plan, in which green and low-carbon sectors were identified as a core component of its industrial strategy and an important pillar of growth. The Plan reaffirmed China’s commitment to renewable energy sources by aiming to increase its proportion of non-fossil fuels to 11.4% by 2015. Strategic Emerging Industries, such as clean energy vehicles and energy conservation, will receive increased funding; business leaders and investors are looking forward to increased R&D capabilities and JV opportunities.
Three panels addressed recent policy decisions in China related to cleantech, current investment opportunities in the cleantech industry, and the state of the industry both domestically and globally. Distinguished speakers comprised professionals from a range of backgrounds, united in their common goal of building a more sustainable environmental future.
